Open arms or closed doors?

In an upcoming series of Wellington-based talks, Rev Dr Raymond Pelly shares how churches can come alive with the welcome of Christ.

Taonga News  |  15 Jan 2016  |

"What makes us feel welcome and at ease in one place or group, but not in another?" asks Rev Dr Raymond Pelly in an upcoming lecture series at the Marist Spirituality Centre in Wellington.

Based on research from his recently published book, 'Wharenui, Houses of Hope - Christ's Open Space for Life,' Raymond will demonstrate how churches and faith communities can create hospitable, humane and hopeful spaces to share.

Scheduled for 7pm Thursdays from 11 February - 10 March, each evening session will lay out Pelly's foundations for building welcome in Christ: standing, touching, communicating, remembering and prophesying.

To attend the series, please register interest by email: bgummings@xtra.co.nz or phone: 04 472 2734.

Places are limited. Entry free/koha.

Rev Dr Raymond Pelly has lived in Wellington since 1990, serving as chaplain at Victoria University, resident theologian at St Peter's Willis Street and priest associate at Wellington Cathedral of St. Paul.
