Phil, a parishioner from Tawa Anglican Church, is trying to organise respite accommodation for Christchurch people needing a break from the tremors.

He says he has had a fantastic response so far.

Others people have offered respite accommodation in Hawkes Bay, Rotorua and Auckland.

For further information, contact the General Secretary, Michael Hughes: gensecm@ang.org.nz

An offer of respite accommodation has come from even further afield: Tottenham, Australia.

Julie McRae says her home, "Avoca," has bedrooms for Christchurch folk whose homes are out of action.
