After more than 20 years in operation, the Anglican Taonga site needs reviewing and updating in 2025 so that it can function better in the new environment of online communication, today and into the future.
Back in 2018, a plan was proposed by this Church's Anglican Communications and Media Office advisors to create a new single platform Anglican media site that would gather together all Anglican news platforms across Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. That plan is now off the table, but Anglican Taonga (and soon, the Tuia-General Synod Office site) need a closer look.
While the Anglican Taonga website is getting on in years, its deep archives of Anglican news for Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia make it a strong asset with valuable uptake by search engines (SEO) and AI-generated responses.
The Anglican Taonga survey requests feedback on the status quo: what works now and what doesn't, and helps us identify who uses the website for what purpose. The survey also asks for your extra comment, encouraging the website's readers to share ideas and suggestions for redesign or improvements. Survey results will sit alongside data on traffic rates and user patterns being collected from the Taonga site's analytics and social media leads.
The Anglican Taonga survey has been prepared by the Kurahautū communications team Taonga Editor Julanne Clarke-Morris and Rev Peter Bargh, while Te Pīhopatanga o Aotearoa communications director Tuvae Barlow has provided design suggestions.
Regular Taonga readers and everyone who has contributed to a story or written for Anglican Taonga in print or online are especially encouraged to offer their expert feedback in this survey.
Following the Taonga survey, the data and comments will be brought together to help inform a proposal for update or redesign of the Anglican Taonga website.
Please fill out the 5-6 minute survey and include your creative ideas in the survey's comments sections via the link below, we'd love to hear from you.
