The AAW Episcopal Unit of the Diocese of Polynesia in Aotearoa New Zealand enjoyed a special 'Creation' service hosted by Ngoue Iteni at St Alban’s Church, Dominion Rd, on Sunday, 29 March. The celebrant was the Rev ‘Elenoa Mancini

The service started with the blowing of the kele’a and a karanga from our tangata whenua member. The theme of the service was ‘Sustainability’. A workshop was held during the service and members were divided into four groups to think about our responsibility to take care of Creation.

The groups came up with lists of practical actions such as respect for relationships and recycling. Members brought fruits and vegetables from their gardens to the altar rail, with offerings of breads – roti from the Indian Anugrah AAW, taro from the Ekalesia Samoa AAW, and tapioca from the Tongan AAW ‘Ofa kihe Laumalie Ma’oni’oni.

All were blessed by Rev’d ‘Elenoa Mancini, then carried to the hall for an ‘agape meal’.
