The Anglican Missions Board is supporting the Christian World Service’s Nepal Emergency Appeal – and is encouraging Anglicans throughout this province to do likewise.

Donations can be made online at Nepal Earthquake Appeal- or sent to PO Box 22652, Christchurch 8140. Donors can also call 0800 74 73 72.

CWS is working in Nepal with ACT Alliance (Action by Churches Together) of which it is a part.

The alliance members are based in Kathmandu and in other parts of Nepal.  They are mobilising shelter, food, water, blankets and medications for the victims.

The ACT Alliance is also working with the Nepalese government, the UN system and church partners to coordinate their response.

“We are confident in our partners,” says Pauline McKay, the CWS National Director. “They have been working in Nepal for many years. They are mounting a large scale operation to make sure that those who need help most what they need.

“We ask church people to both remember to pray for the people of Nepal and those working to help them, and to please donate to this urgent appeal.”
