The Association of Anglican Women (AAW) is calling for input into the shape of its future as an organisation with an online survey for all Anglicans.

"We invite all Anglicans – men, women, clergy and lay to tell us the hard truths about what needs to change." reads the AAW's invitation to its online survey.

The Association of Anglican Women usually focuses on weekly meetings of women in parishes or groups of parishes, which may include a Eucharistic or other prayer service, a talk or shared activity and a meal.

The Christian fellowship between AAW members makes up a significant part of the its role in church life, particularly in the way members support one another when in need and in the lifelong friendships that are formed through the groups and across tikanga.

Across the Church, the Association of Anglican Women focuses on service through overseas and outreach projects and support for communities closer to home.

In 2024 the Association raised $14.5K for children's medical treatment in Rwenzori, Uganda, and in 2025 they raised $12K to fund a container of emergency equipment to support community resilience in Fiji, both provided through Anglican Missions.

The Association of Anglican Women's social concern ministry often includes mobilising members to make donations of food, goods, clothing and money to support families struggling to get by as the cost of living crisis bites.

Both of these service aspects to AAW life support its two core aims which are:

- To unite in prayer and participate in the mission of the Church
- To promote, safeguard and nurture Christian family life

The Association of Anglican Women was formed in 1969, as a descendent of the Mother's Union, with the purpose of widening its welcome to all Anglican women, whether married, divorced or single.
