In Memoriam: Bruce Moore

The Rt Rev Bruce Moore, former Assistant Bishop of Auckland has died peacefully in Taupo aged 90.

The Right Reverend Bruce Moore, former Assistant Bishop of Auckland has died peacefully in Taupo aged 90.

Bruce trained in the UK and initially served there following ordination in 1957, before returning to New Zealand in 1961 to serve as Assistant Curate of Manurewa. He was vicar of the parishes of Panmure, Ponsonby, and Howick. In 1992 he became Assistant Bishop of Auckland responsible for the southern region. When he retired in 1997 he left Auckland to live in Taupo.

Bruce served 64 years in ordained ministry, including 30 years as a bishop.

He is remembered in the Diocese of Auckland with great affection and respect and has been a well-loved member of the St Andrew’s  parish in Taupo.

Bishop Bruce Moore's funeral will be held at St Andrew’s Taupo during Easter week.

Please remember Bruce with thankfulness, and pray for Diana and their family as they grieve his death.

May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
