City Missions face surge in need

Around Aotearoa families on the edge are entering crisis mode as Christmas approaches, with Auckland and Christchurch City Missions already reporting record demand for emergency food parcels.

Auckland City Mission is facing a new high in demand for its pre-Christmas emergency food parcels and Christchurch City Mission is expecting a record turnout of needy families using its services this holiday period.

In Christchurch yesterday – Friday 21 December – the city mission saw the largest number of people to ever visit its premises and receive support on a single day. Read the full story in The Press here
