Calendar Boys: people in Brontë Country have been taking their clothes off for the benefit of Haworth Parish Church’s restoration fund.

So many people responded to an appeal for models for a Calendar Girls-style photoshoot that the organisers were able to produce two versions: The Women of Worth and The Men of Worth.

The Priest-in-Charge at St Michael and All Angels, the Rev Peter Mayo-Smith, said: “I and the PCC are very grateful that the local community feel so strongly about their parish church, and have taken steps to help raise some of the money needed towards the restoration.”

St Michael’s was built in 1879 on the site of the church, in Yorkshire, where Patrick Brontë, the father of the literary sisters, was vicar.

The £1.25 million restoration project includes opening the original crypt containing the tombs of Charlotte and Emily Brontë, their brother, Branwell, and their parents
