Anglican appeal climbs to $518,000

The Anglican appeal for quake relief in Christchurch reaches NZ$518,000.

The Anglican appeal for quake relief in Christchurch has topped NZ$518,000.

Sources are:

• Internet banking, $64,000
• Cheques through mail, $336,000
• From overseas via Anglican Missions Board, $118,000

"What an awesome response," says Archdeacon Bernard Faull who is managing the appeal.

"It's interesting to note that many of our church schools have held special events to raise money for the people of Christchurch.

"It's apparent that people have given in a prayerful and sacrificial way."
