Two English bishops met Waiapu representatives in Havelock North last week to plan a pilgrimage next year to the Province of Papua New Guinea in support of the new Primate, Clyde Igara.

The H and W Williams Memorial Trust and the Dioceses of Norwich, Rockhampton and Waiapu are supporting the pilgrimage.

Each of the three dioceses already sponsors mission projects in PNG, and now wish to strengthen links as well as to back future initiatives.

The Havelock North meeting was attended by the Rev Robert Kereopa (Anglican Missions Board), Bishop Andrew Hedge (Waiapu), Bishop David Robinson (Rockhampton), Bishop Jonathan Meyrick (Diocese of Norwich), Hugh McBain and Juliet Page representing the H and W Williams Memorial Trust.

The Archbishop of Papua New Guinea had planned to join the meeting but was unable to come because of visa problems.
