Births, deaths, marriages move sites

Kiwis can now register information on births, deaths and marriages through a new website on govt.nz.

The Registrar-General of Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM), Jeff Montgomery has announced a new online home for BDM information at govt.nz
“We’ve now made it easier for New Zealanders to find BDM information,” he said.
“The information has been rewritten in plain English and presented in a way that makes sense to our customers – focussing on a particular product or service.” "At the Department of Internal Affairs we offer our help to people making plans for very significant events in their lives."
"Whether they’re getting married, recognising the birth of their child, or dealing with the death of family or friends, Births Deaths and Marriages has an important role to play.”
Jeff Montgomery says  the new site will help people wanting to register or find information on all births (including stillbirths), deaths, marriages, civil unions and name changes in New Zealand.
The new online presence will help Jeff and his team produce the over 350,000 certificates, print outs and marriage licences they issue each year.
"Now the material is live, you will find everything you need to know on www.govt.nz/organisations/births-deaths-and-marriages/"
"We encourage you to let people know if they are planning to get married or anyone needing information about births or deaths, and that you find the new content easy to use."
"We’d love to hear your feedback on how you find using the information through contacts on the BDM page."
