Wellington seeks seafarers' chaplain

Can you manage a Seafarers’ Welfare Centre?

Due to the retirement of the Mission to Seafarers Chaplain at Wellington, a vacancy has arisen for a full-time chaplain to minister to seafarers visiting the Port of Wellington, New Zealand.

The position also encompasses the duties of the Oceania Regional Co-ordinator of Mission to Seafarers.

Applicants should preferably have had experience in ministering to ethnic groups whose first language is not necessarily English.

New Zealand has a controlled immigration policy, and applicants who are not New Zealand or Australian citizens, or who do not have residence and work permits, will need to meet New Zealand Immigration Service requirements in order to be considered for this appointment.

Interviews will be conducted during the last two weeks of February 2015. 

Applications close on 14 February 2015.  The successful applicant is expected to begin duties on 1 June 2015, or as soon as the preferred candidate is available.
